I contracted a website developer through codeable back in June of last year. I was told my website would be completed and ready to launch in 2 months. It actually launched in 4 months. There were many things that were paid for that were never completed. When I asked for them to be fixed by the developer I was told I would have to pay more money to fix them. These were things I had already paid for, they never worked as they were supposed to. After we launched, I asked why people couldn’t leave comments on our WordPress blog, and I was told it would cost $400 to add comments to the blog. Sounded really weird to me as WordPress is known for blogging. Once comments were added, I started receiving roughly 20,000 spam comments a day. I paid for a plugin to stop this from happening but apparently the one that the developer recommended wasn’t a good one, so the spam comments continued.
In December of last year, just 2 months after launching my $10,000 website, I had to start looking for alternatives to move my website to. I’ve now moved over to a new platform and couldn’t be happier except for the fact that I’m out $10,000 for a shut website that never worked. Thanks codeable for allowing people to work with completely incompetent website developers.
Since I’ve switched platforms, I’ve been contacted by several people who used the same developer as I did through codeable. Apparently I’m not the only one who’s out a shit ton of money and a non-functioning website.
